Two step verification locked me out of my xbox. Never again!!!
One easy solution to some of these problems is not to use internet banking.
This was very informative and helpful. As someone who often has trouble with computers i feel that this could help many pentioners like myself.Albert Pippins

Surely leaving your most current mobile number on the internet is a vulnerability in itself?
Always check website for HTTPS connection when logging in ensuring you have an SSL connection. Check computer for malware sometimes antivirus sucks at that.Always update Operating system to reduce possibility of exploits. Never connect to unsecure Wifi, attackers can use man in the middle attack to gain usernames and password.I think that's all you really need to know, there are more obviously.
If you get locked out if you don't use your own details, that's hardly the system's fault.I use it all the time, and recommend it everywhere. I've worked in IT for 20 years, and see the chaos that people have to deal with when their accounts get hacked. This stops that happening. Just take care with it, and you'll never regret it.
THIS WAS HELPFUL ADVICE AS SOMETIMES THE INTERNET CAN BE A CRUEL AND VERY DANGEROUS PLACE IF YOU USE FACEEBOOK
I am a pensioner with low vision and don't use a mobile phone. Why is the security check apparently limited to those who do, I wonder. Is there another way of taking advantage of it?
Unfortunately, no-one is 100% safe. Not even Google. Hackers are always trying new things and that means you must try to stay one step ahead. Change passwords often and keep your software up-to-date.
Yeah because we don't give any of your details to anybody!
Apparently there was a survey in London where commuters were requested to undertake a small survey for a free pen. One of the survey question was 'please provide your computer password' and 90% complied to get the free pen!Stupidity of people is a problem which cannot be resolved. Stupid people have weak password and weak/freeware security. Be smart
useful info thanxx
Although what ever you do on Google isn't safe.
If people would learn about IT security then you would not have any off these problems
My house being burgled is worse than getting a virus on my computer;at least I can get rid of the virus.
I don't understand about not using your own details - last comment timed at 11.31am
Does the extra drive space go for Google In America?
I would think the most vulnerable are the way elder people using technology.
I always do things like this but they always fire back. For example I lost tonnes of data after getting locked out to my computer. Also comments give a hacker a footprint to follow!
an easy way to avoid this is dont go for e-mail scams or fishers
this is a good peice of advise. and for me a child i am on alot of electronic devises and sometimes i am hacked form instagram snapchat etc
I don't see how giving my phone number to a site I know some barely trust is not a stupid idea o.o However, the tips where helpful enough, but I know two step verification has been a problem for alot of people. Anyways, good job, very helpful!<3
Like SERIOUSLY u da hell follows these kinda foolish rules???????????????????
I haven't seen anything really useful for internet security here?Step 1. Make sure your Browser blocks Pop-ups, does not allow Active X to run locally and enable any built in threat detection. Check browser add-in's on Google or Manage apps on IE for anything unknown. DO NOT allow too much disk space be allocated to temp files. Do not automatically allow cookies from 3rd Parties.Do not click on any pop-up email or advert you did not request.Disable Java and other add-ins unless neededUnderstand what you are doing online, like not leaving your front door unlocked when you go out? These are the basics.
I was using all features already, now will have 2 gb extra storage. That idea quite cool enough.
Does Google accept suggestions from Google users for a safer Internet (like in the safest possible accounts mathematically demonstrated)? And if they do, then where should the suggestions be submitted?
"...We’ll be granting the storage automatically to everyone around 28 February 2015 and we’ll send you an email when your adjustment is complete..." Today is March 3,and i didn't see the mail or the storage increase..please be serious.
