It will be interesting to get some reactions by John to Neelie Kroes' speech this week at the new Microsoft Brussels Cloud Computing Centre (yes, that's a bit ironic) on data portability (Google supports I believe), (technically difficult?) interoperability between cloud platforms and (co-regulatory, heavy-handed?) standardisation efforts. Her speech is here: http://europa.eu/rapid/pressReleasesAction.do?reference=SPEECH/11/199&format=HTML&aged=0&language=EN&guiLanguage=en

Is there any place where we can see the video of this conference? I would like to know if Google Apps is 100 % compliant with EU policy and laws, especially after this Danish Data Protection Agency has stated that use of Google Apps by Odense Council is not compliant to law: http://www.datatilsynet.dk/english/processing-of-sensitive-personal-data-in-a-cloud-solution/
