If government prying is such an issue, why is Google requiring me to create a public profile with my first and last name before I post reviews online?
I first encountered this with GooglePlay today. You don't make identity disclosure optional. It's a forced disclosure of information with the threat of no longer being able to use your services if customers don't complay.
It's like you're making it easier for governments and corporations to figure out who's doing what so they can request even more data.
A company I used to work for specifically had a policy stating employees could not publicly say anything negative about their sponsors.
Are you thinking it will be harder for governments and corporations to sort through the data if there's more of it, or does Google just want to make it easier for them in the first place?
Google has really started to infringe on freedom of speech by trying to eliminate people's anonymity.
