Symmetry goes far beyond mathematics, for sure. Symmetry is also beauty, and poetry. The ancient Hebrews used a form of poetry which mimics symmetry. The first line would state a belief or tenent of their values. The second line of poetry would then restate the same thing only using different words.
It is true that everywhere we look in nature we find symmetry. It makes you wonder if other levels of symmetry exist which we haven't discovered yet.
